Biography
Charles is a Bay Area native who has been practicing law for 20 years. His practice focuses mainly on civil litigation, pre-litigation advising, and alternative dispute resolution and he has experience handling cases in San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Joaquin, Napa, Sonoma, Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado counties. He has handled cases for individuals and businesses of all sizes involving business disputes, catastrophic injuries, real estate and land use issues, construction, and professional liability. He is experienced with all phases of litigation from strategic pre-litigation counseling to and through trial. Charles believes in zealous advocacy but approaches cases from a pragmatic perspective with the singular goal of achieving the most favorable and efficient resolution possible for his clients. He places an emphasis on effective and frequent client communication.
Charles is the former Mayor of the City of Belmont and has served on various Boards of Directors including the San Mateo County Transit District, Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, San Mateo County Libraries Joint Powers Authority, Peninsula Clean Energy, and South Bayside Waste Management Authority (“ReThink Waste.”) When he’s not in the office or in court, he’s often volunteering his time with the Carlmont High School Mock Trial Club, running on local trails, or playing tennis.
